Workshops with the Regroupement pour la Trisomie 21

From 2011 to 2018, Joe Jack and John has partnered with the Regroupement pour la Trisomie 21 to offer theatre workshops to its adult members. During the workshops, participants co-devised a collective creation from improvisations, following the method developed by Joe Jack & John. The annual outcome of this process was then presented on a Montreal stage – Théâtre Calixa-Lavallée, Maison de la Culture Frontenac, etc.

Participants also had the opportunity to meet artists from various performing arts disciplines (stage combat, stunt, mime, mask techniques, clown, on-camera acting, object theatre, voice, etc.). In addition to these workshops, participants were invited to observe year after year the workings of creating and producing a professional play by being observing a company rehearsal, discussing with the performers and designers, and then attending a public performance.

This mediation project received funding from the City of Montreal and then from the TELUS Community Board.
