Marc Barakat

As a student at Les Muses – Centre des arts de la scène, Marc Barakat is known for the quality of his verbal expression and onstage presence. He appeared in Ailleurs, presented by Les Muses at the Maison de la culture Mercier in March 2003, and in Ionesco’s La Leçon, produced the following winter at La Chapelle by Des Pieds et des Mains. For Joe Jack & John he appeared in Ce soir l’Amérique prend son bain, presented at the Bain Mathieu in 2005. Le Devoir critic Hervé Guay wrote of Marc’s performance: “The fiery Marc Barakat plays both the host and the guest with verve.” In Go shopping (et fais le mort) Marc shared the stage with, among others, Élisabeth Chouvalidzé. More recently, he joined the company of Pharmakon, written by Alexis Martin and directed by Menka Nagrani of Des pieds et des mains, presented in 2011 at the Théâtre Gesù and in Maisons de la culture around Montreal. In March 2012, Marc received the Janine-Sutto Prize for his artistic achievements. In 2012 he joined the cast of the Louise Archambault film Gabrielle. Stephanie Boghen

Stephie Boghen

Stephanie has many facets to her professional life: theatre student at Concordia University in Montreal; bowling champion; and disability advocate. Before Concordia she attended Dawson College and Loyola University. Her presentation at the UN Headquarters in New York in March 2015 as part of the 4th World Down Syndrome Day Congress was entitled “Making Inclusion Work: Encouraging Adults with Down Syndrome Pursuing Higher Education”. Her role in Violette marks her first collaboration with Joe Jack & John, Stephanie is also participating in Les waitress sont tristes, in which she loves line dancing.

Stéphanie Colle

Stephanie Colle

A student of theatre and dance at Les Muses: centre des arts de la scène since 2015, Stéphanie already has several professional credits. Since January 2019, she has been working with the contemporary jig company Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils as part of Écoute pour voir, a choreographic concept developed by Emmanuel Jouthe/Danse Carpe Diem. In 2019 she also made her first steps into the world of TV, appearing in Unité 9 and Léo. She is making her Joe Jack & John début in our most recent creation, VIOLETTE.

Michael Nimbley

Michael Nimbley has been studying theatre at Les Muses – Centre des arts de la scène since 2004. A bilingual actor (English/French), the extent of his talent was apparent in 2006 and 2008 in Le temps des marguerites, presented at Tangente. Known for his ineffable charisma and singular voice, this veteran actor played the lead role in Joe Jack & John’s Mimi, myself et tous ceux qui me regardent in 2009. In 2010, Michael appeared alongside the actor Frédéric Lavallée in the Cabaret Les Muses at l’Astral, playing a disturbing character in an excerpt from Edward Albee’s Zoo Story directed by Richard Gaulin. After winning Best Actor at the 2012 Gala des Cochons d’Or for his role in Joe Jack & John’s Just fake it, he toured with the show to Rimouski, Laval, Liège, and Berlin. “His onstage presence and his sincerity are disarming,” wrote Suzanne Vallières-Nolet on the website Plein Espace. Michael participated in the creation of AVALe, (Théâtre Aux Écuries, 2014) and Abîmés (Théâtre Denise-Pelletier, 2016). Film credits include Eric Savoie’s Cendres, presented as part of Kino in 2007, as well as Louise Archambault’s most recent film, Gabrielle. Television roles include Annie et ses hommes. From 2018 to 2022, Michael became Joe Jack & John’s first Artist-in-Residence, in which he developed his play Les Waitress sont tristes, presented from in the Fall of 2022 at Espace Libre.

Anne Tremblay

Anne Tremblay

Anne Tremblay has been pursuing professional artistic training since 2014 at Les Muses : centre des arts de la scène. Among other things, she has taken intensives with Hugo Bélanger, Roger Sinha, Johanne Blouin, and Annie Gagnon. She was directed by Angela Konrad in the show Fête, petites écorchures et effets presque spéciaux (Place des arts, 2017). She is making her Joe Jack & John début in our most recent creation, VIOLETTE, and is also part of the team devising Les waitress sont tristes
